This film had some good actors in it, Paul Rudd, Michelle Williams and Elizabeth Banks, and was made in 2005. The premise was clever, however, the story line was predictable. Does "the baxter" ever really get the "pretty girl?" AND... the pretty girl is always SOOOO BORING compared to the "baxter girl." The Baxter is always a little off-beat, odd, and here, I feel that they wanted to depict the "baxter" as a person who is ordinary. Michelle Williams as the "baxter" girl was anything but ordinary. She was odd, dressed cool and sang bizarre songs at nightclubs. My kind of girl! Whomever made this-- HELLO! Were you trying to say "baxters" are not the greatest.. or were you saying that they are pretty cool? The male "baxter" of this film, played by Michael Showalter, the Director and Writer was annoyingly ordinary and clumsy. Michael Showalter listen to me!--- YOU SHOULD HAVE MADE HIM A LITTLE COOLER OFF BEAT instead of dorky and uncool! The "baxter" in this film WON as far as I am concerned because the alternative of Elizabeth Banks' character, Caroline Swan (fitting last name) was less than stellar. Don't we all know ordinary pretty girls who are just SO BORING?
