Hero Tomorrow

Not being a real comic book reader or being privy to the world of the comic book peeps, I am not sure what to make of this film. I appreciated the Director's vision but the acting was wooden. Not all performances were totally wooden, but most were. The main character, David, played be dreadlock ridden Perren Hedderson was the worst actor of them all, and he needed to be GREAT to carry this first film from Director Ted Sikora! This film genre is titled comedy on IMDB and I didn't really see much that was funny, much more tragic for the main character to be such a MESS. I thought the costume was well done but I didn't relate and or connect with any of the characters and that is what is essential for a successful movie. They pulled off some of the special effects and the back and forth storytelling, but I found it a bit depressing overall. The story was depressing, the characters were depressing and not at all vibrant and likeable. The story centers around a comic book junkie who created a character Apama, and desperately wants to publish and we get to see his frustrations and him trying to make Apama come alive in more ways than one.

I give it a 1.
